There are countless different strains of cannabis. Although all cannabis strains fall within three categories: Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid.

Sativa cannabis strains are known to get you to be more active and creativity tends to flourish.The leaves of a sativa cannabis plant are thin and spread out and it contains lower THC levels but higher CBD content. Among medicinal cannabis circles, treating depression is a major plus of a sativa strain.

Indica cannabis strains are known for their calming effects and are helpful with insomnia, anxiety, and pain relief; they have a higher THC content. Indica cannabis buds are more compact as the plant leaves are wider and closer together. Also typically very pungent and colourful depending on the strain. Hybrid strains are the cherry on top of the cannabis sundae.They are created to perfectly balance and harmonize sativa and indica cannabis qualities for the desired energetic or relaxed effect. These strains come from all over the world as growers are motivated to grow herb for personalized effects.

Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two main ingredients in the cannabis plant. Both CBD and THC belong to a unique class of compounds known as cannabinoids.

While many strains of marijuana are known for having extremely high levels of THC, high-CBD strains are less common. But CBD has recently started to draw attention from the medical community, who seem to prefer CBD over THC.

The most sought after high-CBD strain is called Charlotte’s Web because of it having little to none THC. As a medical strain, Charlotte’s Web has been used successfully to treat PTSD, epilepsy, and much more. Another high-CBD strain is called Harlequin and it is renowned for being able to treat pain and anxiety.
